How can you get free medical care ?
Apply for a temporary protection certificate at the immigration office, in the registration center.
Belgium has granted Ukrainian refugees a temporary protection. Thanks to this protection, you are entitled to reimbursement of your health care costs. Register with a sickness fund:
- Alliance nationale des mutualités chrétiennes
- Union nationale des mutualités socialistes
- Union nationale des Mutualités Libérales
- Mutualité partenamut
If you are registered with a sickness fund, you can consult a general practitioner, dentist or another health care provider for medical care.
In order to better understand social assistance for beneficiaries of temporary protection status, an informative brochure is available in 6 languages (French, Dutch, German, English, Ukrainian and Russian). You can find them via this link. Please note that the brochure is only available in digital form.
Caritas International has put in place a hotline to answer questions from Ukrainians and Belgians who are hosting them: 0800 2 41 41 accessible and free of charge from Monday to Friday, between 12:00 and 18:00. A WhatsApp number is available for all answers in Ukrainian via 0032 476 34 07 58.
For all Ukrainians who do not have a primary care doctor or whose host families are still without a primary care doctor, the 1710 is more relevant than ever!
